Wheat Kids: Denmark does it right!

Found another amazing line for kids (boys AND girls) that I had never heard of before getting into the biz:

Wheat.

It's a simple philosophy that they have:  individuality and affordable prices in a quality driven brand.  Simple, but spot-on.

A little about the line.....(pulled from the Wheat site).....

Wheat as a brand was founded in Denmark by Peter and Charlotte Galsgaard who as parents of young children recognised that there was a need for quality children’s clothing for both fashion conscious children and their parents.

Wheat does not try to be nor want to be the cheapest.

Wheat is also not and doesn’t want to be the dearest. The design is Danish and by its simple lines, the light colours and the original patterns, it carries on the Scandinavian tradition of design simplicity.

The fabrics used are produced exclusively for Wheat, giving the designers rich opportunities to play with the stripes, checks, embroideries and more complicated applications.

Details play an important role in the Wheat brand.

Now.......a few pics from past collections of Wheat - and of course, you will be finding Wheat at Wonder this Spring 2012, in-store and online.  I can't wait!

I am so excited for: New Bedding!

For real.  Never did I know in my life that I would be this excited to get some new bedding!

I have always loved Serena and Lily, but rarely find it 'ok' to spend full price on their items.  It's more of a 'dream' catalog full of wishes for me.  However, I got a sale notice in the mail from them the other day, that gives a coupon code for an extra 20% off of sale.  Now THAT'S what I'm talking about.

In case you're interested in this deal - the code is JUSTFORYOU.  It's good on all sale and clearance items, through August 22nd.

Here is what I bought, and am waiting by the mailbox for -

This is all of it together, but gives you the best view of the duvet cover.

the Pimento sheeting, yummy.

Pillow Shams

The collection is Catalina - good swatch view.

What do you think?  I can't wait to accessorize around this new navy and pimento theme.....ideas??

New Lulu Favorites

Fueled with a gift card from my June birthday, I went into Lululemon a couple of weeks ago determined to find some new workout shorts.  As usual, Lulu did not disappoint.

My new favs are called the Strength and Tone Short, and I loved them so much I got them in two colors.  At $48, they are not cheap if you're used to getting your workout gear at say, Target (which I frequent as well), but they are well worth it ladies!

They don't ride up, they have some undies on the inside, and they don't pinch around the waist which is usually my issue with any kind of stretchy workout gear.  I hate pinchy fabrics that squish out the very fat that you're trying to get rid of!

only couture for my little girl.......

No, this post isn't going to be as obnoxious as you think judging by the title, but........it is about Couture Clips.

Searching high and low for my favorite little girls' accessories for Wonder, I came across Couture Clips.  The company was started by a couple of Moms (sisters-in-law, actually), who couldn't find cute and high quality hair bows and accessories for their daughters.  I met these two Moms at the Couture Clips booth in NY (for market) and they couldn't be any nicer.  I had a great time with them picking out bows, clips, headbands, and even crocheted baby hats for Wonder!

Here are some of my favorites (and you can be sure to find these in Wonder this Fall - and online!):

'Chooze' a new shoe

One of the best things about being a buyer is finding a new line that you really believe in and putting your dollars behind it.  For me at Wonder, one of these lines is Chooze shoes.

I first found Chooze through their PR firm in LA, Bollare.  The owner and founder of Bollare is a good friend from my days at Shopbop (that's where she got her start in PR!), and she sent us some samples.

You'll notice with Chooze shoes the left shoe is never quite the same as the right.  Maybe it's a different fabric altogether, maybe the print is the same but the background color is different, whatever!  For a kid - how much fun is that?  Kids love wearing two different socks and if they could, two different shoes - so here's the answer to their prayers.

Chooze is also all about giving back.  How?  CHOOZE is a Good Returns company.  At the end of each year, CHOOZE invests 100% of profits in anti-poverty programs.  These programs provide training, support, education, and loans to women so they can start their own businesses and lift themselves out of extreme poverty.  Loans are paid back at the end of the year and they start the cycle again.  Cool, right?

Here are some of my favorites from the Fall line we'll be debuting at Wonder!
